2022 Summer Reading Programming
- Thursday, June 2 at 1pm - Movie Day
- Tuesday, June 7 at 10:00am - All Ages Summer Reading Program (Welcome to the Medieval (Middle-Ages). Each child will receive a Lap Book. These books hold information and activities the children will be doing over the next four weeks. They will paint, color, draw on their Lap Books to make it their own these books are keep sakes. We will also discuss The Feudal System and make a four in one display showing how each group lived and why the system worked or did not work.)
- Monday, June 13 at 10:00am - Kentucky Shakespeare Program: Stage Combat (A Shakespeare program for all groups, adults included will come to perform battle scenes on stage. The Louisville Shakespeare company will present. This is an hour program that will be in the Cloverport Independent School cafeteria, at 10:00am.)
- Tuesday, June 14 at 10:00am - All Ages Summer Reading Program (We will be discussing parts of a castle. Each child will paint a castle or construct one from scratch. Each child will also be able to make a scene depicting the outer parts of the castle. On this day we will also learn about Knights and how a young person became a knight. Each child will make their own shield (learning about heraldry and why it was so important for each knight to have his own individual shield. They will also paint their swords.)
- Wednesday, June 16 at 1:00pm - Movie Day
- Tuesday, June 21 at 10:00am - All Ages Summer Reading Program (The younger children will make head pieces to wear for their Tea get together. The children will make Dragon Eyes using glitter to decorate. The older children will make Dragon eyes and necklaces.)
- Thursday, June 23 at 1:00pm - End of Summer Reading Tea Party (Children ages Pre-school thru 3rd grade are invited to a Tea Party it will be in the Library starting at 1:00pm. Anyone wanting to dress up for the tea party are more than welcome to, we look forward to having fun and games.)
- Saturday, June 25 at 4:00pm - Kentucky Bigfoot Speaker (Charlie Raymond, the founder of the Kentucky Bigfoot Research Organization, has been researching Bigfoots in Kentucky for over three-decades. Charlie has appeared on The Animal Planet, The History Channel, and The BBC and is coming to BCPL to tell us about his findings!)
- Monday, June 27 at 10:00am - Kentucky Shakespeare Program (Shakespeare group will be here as before to perform a Renaissance dance program for the children. This will be in the cafeteria beginning at 10:00am all age groups and adults are welcome. Children will be able to participate in this program as well.)
- Tuesday, June 28 at 3:00pm - Animal Tales (Animal Tales is coming back to the library with The Animal Science Show! Join us to have a hands-on experience with animals from all over the world.)
- Thursday, June 30 at 1:00pm - End of Summer Reading Banquet (This will be a banquet for the older children this will begin at 1:00pm grades 4th and up are invited to participate. Dress for a Medieval Banquet. Food and games for everyone.
